The house
Andrew and Maritza
Modena is run by a husband and wife — Andrew and Maritza Kearton. Not a group, not a concept rolled out from somewhere else. Two people who decided Marietta deserved Northern Italian cooking done properly, and then did it themselves.
Everything is made in house, pasta included. The kitchen rolls it, cuts it, and serves it the same day. The seafood is fresh, the beef is CAB Prime, and the dining room is candlelit rather than loud — premium casual, equally right for an anniversary or a Tuesday.
There is a dining room indoors and a patio outside, and parking is free and on site, which in this part of Barrett Parkway is its own small luxury.
A restaurant the owners are actually standing in.
